Competitors will attempt to split a log with an axe in three swings. The goal is to accumulate the highest possible score based on a combination of cleanly splitting the log and the number of swings taken. Competitors get a maximum of three swings to split a log in two. A successful split earns 8 points, with an additional bonus based on how many swings it takes. Splitting the log on the first swing adds 2 points to the score, for a total of 10. A second-swing split adds 1 point, for a total of 9. A split on the third and final swing earns just the 8 points for the split itself. If the log isn't split after three swings, the competitor receives 0 points. You may consume a beer to select another log and try again.
Beersbee is a game played with two teams of two, a frisbee, two poles, and two bottles. Players stand at opposite ends of the playing field with a beer in one hand at all times. The objective is for a team's thrower to knock the opponent's bottle off the pole with a frisbee. The opponent's team must try to catch the frisbee and/or bottle before they hit the ground. Again, each player must be holding a beer at all times.
The Beer Relay is a four-person, four-team race that tests speed, teamwork, and tolerance. The event is a series of three sprints where a different team member takes on each leg of the race. The first runner starts the race and must complete a specific task at the first station. Once finished, they chug a beer and then can tag their teammate runs like hell to their station. The second teammate must then complete a different task and chug a beer before they run to the third station. This continues until the fourth and final teammate completes their task and crosses the finish line.
The Axe Throwing competition is based on a point system that rewards accuracy, but is forgiving if you're willing to have a beer or two. Competitors get three throws at a circular target, with the option to earn up to three extra throws by drinking a beer. The maximum score is 10 points.
Scoring Examples: A competitor throws three axes, hitting the center ring once, the middle ring once, and the outer ring once. Their score is 5+3+1=9. Or, the competitor throws three axes and gets 0 points. They then drink a beer for a bonus throw and hit the center ring. Their final score is 5.
Two teams will complete a two-inning game that is designed to be fast-paced and high-scoring. It combines the classic elements of baseball with a strategic drinking component. After a batter hits the Blitzball, they must immediately drop to one knee and begin chugging a beer. Meanwhile, the entire fielding team works together to get them out. The ball must be retrieved and passed to every player on the fielding team before the final player can tag the batter. Once the batter is tagged, they must stop drinking. Their final score for that turn is the number of beers they successfully finished before being tagged out. Each completed beer is worth one point.
A one-on-one tournament, Bucket Swords is one of the oldest Hangover Games and is making a glorious return this year. The rules are simple: players stand on opposite buckets, each holding a foam sword and a cup of beer. The objective is to use the sword to knock the opponent's beer out of their hand, all while maintaining your balance. The last one with their beer still in hand wins the round.

The "Hot Scoops Challenge" of 2015 is a Hangover Games legend, a story that still gets told every year. It’s a challenge that nearly claimed the life of one of our founders, Josh Baker. In the spirit of that legacy, a voluntary Spicy Food Challenge has emerged during more recent games.
This year, any player can earn 5 bonus points by consuming one super spicy hot wing.
