The Old Cabin
The main headquarters for the weekend, the cabin is where most people will be hanging out during the day. There are several spots available to set up a cot or sleeping bag on the floor. The loft can hold three to four grown men, and we can pack in another three to four downstairs. An old cast iron stove is available for warmth if it gets too chilly at night.
You will be the first awake, as we'll be banging around pots and pans early to get breakfast started.
This cabin was originally constructed in the late 1880s and has not been fully restored yet. There are no windows, insulation, and hardly any light. It's dusty, but we'll do our best to address that. Once we get a fire going inside, it becomes very cozy.
An outhouse is located nearby for those sorts of purposes.
The Campgrounds
There are several cleared areas around the cabin that can be used to pitch a tent or hang a hammock. These spots are first come first serve. Electricity may be available depending on how close you are to the power pole.
Pass out on the Ground
Of course, anyone is able to just collapse on the ground and sleep where they wish. When this has happened in the past, we have made sure to remove your shoes and put a blanket on you. A goodnight smooch on the forehead must be booked in advance.
In your Car
One of the more classically comfortable options after a day of partying and carrying on and whatnot. If you plan on sleeping in your car we will direct you to designated camping/parking space.
(New) The Spooky House
I'm honestly not too sure about this one, but willing to give it a try. This is the ultimate in Hangover Games privacy: a private room in an old, abandoned shack, a fair ways away from the main cabin. No one has stayed in there for years, and there is this creepy hole in the ceiling that looks like some sort of entrance to the dark void of nothing. Still, it'll be nice and peaceful-like, so long as nothing gets you.
The Fields
After unloading you will be directed by staff to park your car away from the main events. There will be several designated spots in a nearby field. An old tractor shed is also available for covered parking.
If you plan on sleeping in your vehicle, we will direct you to one of the nearby campsites for parking and setup.
The Farm at Cooper's Bottom
The Cabin at The Farm at Cooper's Bottom
Here is a list of what you'll need for the Hangover Games in a cool Alabama November:
In early November, Cooper's Bottom, typically experiences a mild/pleasant transition from fall to winter. You can expect cool mornings and evenings, with temperatures often dipping into the 50s or low 60s°F. Daytime weather is generally mild and comfortable, with highs usually reaching the mid-60s to low 70s°F. But, we have seen it being warmer the past few years. The weather is often sunny and dry, but you should be prepared for the possibility of a light rain shower. It's a great time for outdoor activities, but layers are recommended to stay comfortable throughout the day.
Beverages and Snacks - Please feel free to bring any additional snacks or beverages that would make your stay more comfortable.
Clothing for Cool Weather: Pack layers to stay warm. A few long-sleeved shirts, a jacket or hoodie, and pants are a good idea.
Sturdy Shoes: We'll be running around the woods, swinging axes, and building fires, so a pair of trail shoes or boots is appropriate.
Spare Clothes: Be sure to bring a spare change of clothes, including extra socks and shoes.
Essential Gear: A flashlight is a must-have for navigating in the dark.
Sleeping Equipment: Depending on where you plan to sleep, pack a cot, sleeping bag, or blankets and a pillow to stay comfortable.
Prohibited Items
We have a strict "no discharging of firearms" policy during the games. At the least, firearms must remain stored in your vehicle for the duration of the weekend.
